Spring Fling Wine Tasting, 19 April, 2008 Up on the tasting bar will be several cool whites, a "pink" Prosecco and a medium weight red from Argentina.
2007 Flying Fish, Riesling (WA) – Columbia Valley has been producing some fine Rieslings over the years, and the Flying Fish is no exception. Distinctive aromas and flavors of ripe peach and apricot that reflect both the varietal itself as well as wines of the Northwest are captured in this offering. The wine is named after the Sockeye Salmon, depicted on the label, that travel each year thousands of miles from the ocean up the Columbia river passing several of the vineyards that produce this wine. A portion of the profits form sales of the wine goes to the Ocean Conservancy to protect wild healthy oceans. $11.99/btl
